Long Range UAV Video Data Telemetry Transmission Module 30Mbps OFDM Wireless Air-to-Ground Data Link

The Vcan2122 is a professional-grade wireless transmission module designed for UAVs, robotics, autonomous systems, and industrial telemetry applications. Utilizing advanced OFDM TDD communication technology, it provides stable long-range wireless connectivity for video streaming, telemetry, command and control, and IP network transmission.

Featuring dual Ethernet ports, multiple serial interfaces, AES-128 encryption, automatic frequency selection, and low-latency performance, the Vcan2122 delivers reliable communication in complex RF environments where interference resistance and link stability are critical.

The system supports point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and star-network topologies with up to 16 nodes. Its compact size, lightweight design, and low power consumption make it ideal for UAV integration and other embedded wireless applications.

The standard version operates in the 1420–1530 MHz frequency range with intelligent frequency hopping capabilities across a wide 110 MHz spectrum. Optional single-band versions are also available for specialized deployments.

Under clear line-of-sight conditions, the system supports transmission distances of 10–20 km using standard antennas, while significantly longer distances can be achieved with high-gain antennas and external RF amplifiers.

FAQ

Does the Vcan2122 support video transmission?

Yes. The module transparently transmits Ethernet data. IP cameras, video encoders, NVRs, and video servers can be connected directly through the Ethernet ports.

What transmission distance can be achieved?

Typical air-to-ground LOS distance is 10–20 km. With high-gain antennas and external RF amplifiers, distances exceeding 100 km are achievable under optimal conditions.

Does it support mesh networking?

The standard Vcan2122 supports point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and star networking. For MANET/IP Mesh applications, we recommend our CX6702 series solutions.

How many devices can operate in one network?

Up to 16 nodes can be supported within a single star network topology.

Is frequency hopping supported?

Yes. The wideband version supports automatic frequency selection and frequency hopping within the available spectrum.

What is the typical latency?

The typical end-to-end latency is less than 20 milliseconds.

Is communication encrypted?

Yes. AES-128 encryption is built into the system to secure wireless communication.

Why are two antennas used?

The module uses a 1T2R architecture:

  • Main antenna: transmit and receive
  • Auxiliary antenna: receive diversity

This significantly improves signal stability and resistance to fading.
